Biography
Born in Yerevan, Armenia, on March 29, 1979, Ruzanna Hakobyan's artistic journey began in the halls of the Yerevan Academy of Fine Art, where she honed her creative expression. After years of immersing herself in fashion design in Paris (2007-2014), Hakobyan moved to Nice, where she found a new artistic direction through painting. Her works reflect a harmonious blend of her personal life, emotions and professional evolution, capturing the transformative power of art as both personal therapy and a universal language. Her creations, rooted in free figuration with elements of abstraction, breathe life through vivid chromatic vibrations that resonate with viewers. Hakobyan’s art embodies her deep connection to nature, humanity and the animal world. She embraces an ongoing journey of metamorphosis, finding rhythm in the creative process—no matter the size of the canvas.
Her exhibitions include solo shows in France and Italy, participation in the Luxembourg Art Prize (2021) and group exhibitions like the 150th anniversary of the Nice Carnaval (2023). With a style that bridges traditional and contemporary techniques, Hakobyan's works reflect the timeless beauty of unconditional love and the mystical depths of ancient Armenian petroglyphs.
