Description
Upon encountering the forms of Akneye for the first time, the artist was reminded of a bird-like image, which became the foundation of their concept. In the interpretation “Rooster’s Eye,” the artist explores recurring themes of symbolism and drama present in their body of work. At the center of the composition lies the interplay between the eye and the reflection of the “Last Supper” scene within it. This synthesis creates a harmonious unity with the forms of Akneye, imbuing the piece with depth and clarity. The dramatic tension is emphasized through bold, contrasting lines and the striking use of red, while the differing expressions of the eyes—one closed, the other open—introduce movement and vitality to the image. This artwork merges symbolic and emotional elements, conveying a sense of inner tension and strength through its dynamic forms and vibrant color palette.
