Welcoming Two African Artists to AKNEYE

AKNEYE proudly introduces two exceptional new voices to its ever-evolving platform — Johnson Ocheja from Nigeria and Lokher from Algeria. Both artists bring not only distinct styles and mediums but also powerful messages rooted in identity, memory and transformation.

Johnson Ocheja, a self-taught artist with a background in Statistics, creates powerful blue-toned portraits using finger-painted textures inspired by African scarification. His work is both intimate and symbolic — a tribute to Black identity and memory, where skin becomes a canvas and tradition takes visual form.

Lokher, born in Algiers and trained at the High School of Fine Arts, builds surreal, dreamlike spaces that push the boundaries of logic. With international exhibitions in Dubai and Marrakech, his immersive works blend medium and message, pulling viewers into emotional terrains that are both strange and familiar.

Together, these two artists bring new depth to the AKNEYE platform — expanding its creative landscape and opening new paths for expression, connection and dialogue. Stay tuned as we continue to showcase voices that shape the future of contemporary and phygital art.
